Project Manager –FTTH (Fiber to the Home)
Location: Columbia, SC
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with FTTH expertise to lead fiber telecom construction projects in the Columbia, SC market. This role is responsible for program-level oversight and day-to-day project execution, including schedule, budget (P&L), quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of OSP fiber construction, and a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget—while exceeding customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities Program & Portfolio Leadership

  • Provide program-level oversight for multiple FTTH projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, customer requirements, and contractual commitments

  • Own overall financial performance (P&L) for assigned projects/programs, including forecasting, cost control, and margin improvement

  • Develop and implement standardized project controls, reporting, and best practices across the program

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for schedule, cost, quality, and customer issues

  • Partner with executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive successful outcomes
Project Execution & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle for FTTH fiber construction projects, from planning and kickoff through closeout

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and customer delivery dates are met or exceeded

  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams including construction, engineering, permitting, materials, and subcontractors

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and local/state regulations

  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation plans to protect schedule and budget
Team Leadership & Customer Focus

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams to exceed execution goals and performance metrics

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Act as the primary customer interface, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication

  • Ensure customer requirements, service-level agreements, and reporting expectations are consistently met

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within telecom or utility construction

  • 3+ years of OSP Fiber Construction experience, with a strong emphasis on FTTH deployments

  • Solid working knowledge of fiber telecom construction, including OSP design, permitting, construction methods, testing, and closeout

  • Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, and P&L responsibility

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing internal teams and external contractors

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale or multi-market FTTH programs

  • Familiarity with customer-driven deployments for major telecom or broadband providers

  • PMP or similar project management certification (preferred, not required)
