TekCom is seeking an experienced Construction Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of Network Design Engineers and support personnel focused on the design, build-out, and delivery of small cell wireless nodes deployed on various vertical assets (streetlights, traffic signals, wood poles) within the public Right-of-Way.
This role supports the Manager of Network Engineering and collaborates closely with fiber and node construction teams, as well as cross-functional departments, to drive process quality, consistency, and excellent end-to-end customer experience. You will be accountable for team performance, project execution, and delivery of key KPIs within your assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee small cell wireless node design projects in the Right-of-Way, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery.
Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to Network Design Engineers, contractors, and A&E vendors.
Manage project trackers, deliverables, schedules, and financials across multiple simultaneous projects.
Conduct feasibility reviews to validate project specifications and design viability.
Ensure all work is completed in alignment with company design standards, construction processes, and quality expectations.
Prioritize and schedule workloads for internal teams and external vendor resources.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and team performance.
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure all jobs are updated in tracking systems.
Partner with utility companies and municipal agencies to streamline permitting and build processes.
Oversee external vendors to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of node design projects.
Strong understanding of small cell deployment requirements in the ROW.
Working knowledge of permitting processes including encroachment, traffic control, and related entitlements.
Proficiency with Southern California utility requirements including GO95, GO128, JPA, AC power systems, metered and unmetered power solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience in telecom, utility, or infrastructure design/construction.
2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience.
Strong understanding of small cell networks, utility coordination, and ROW requirements.
