Job Description
OSP Construction Project Manager - Remote As an OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple OSP construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, extensive experience in outside plant construction, as well as proficiency in project management and tracking tools. Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of OSP projects, ensuring that construction tasks related to fiber installation, hub and node construction, and utility make-ready are completed on schedule and within budget.
Progress Monitoring: Create and maintain high-level spreadsheets to track project timelines and deliverables, using tools like Excel, Smartsheets, and SiteTracker.
Daily Reporting: Receive and report daily updates on project progress and any issues encountered in the field.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Review and issue work orders to contractors, manage external vendors, and ensure the timely delivery of third-party materials.
Field Coordination: Collaborate with the engineering team to solve issues found in the field or on work prints, coordinating with subcontractors and construction teams to keep the project on track.
Permitting & Licensing: Coordinate all construction activities with local and state agencies regarding permitting, pole, and conduit licensing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Construction Techniques: Oversee construction activities for both aerial and underground installations, ensuring adherence to OSP construction techniques and standards.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all construction complies with NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
Meetings & Collaboration: Attend daily high-level meetings to review project status and address any immediate issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in OSP construction management, particularly in underground fiber optic installation.
Strong understanding of local and state permitting processes and utility make-ready procedures.
In-depth knowledge of OSP construction techniques (both aerial and underground).
Familiarity with NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
