Job Description
TekCom is looking for a Materials Specialist in Irvine, CA. This is a long term contract role mostly spent in the field 75% of the time.
The Network Material Specialist position is responsible for supporting the execution of the optimal material supply and warehousing strategy as determined by the Operations Manager, Supply Chain team, warehouse team and local Network team.
This includes all aspects of the material including vendor supply management, transportation management, warehouse performance management and material availability management either internally at warehouses or with partners. The primary objective for this position is to ensure 100% material availability prior to start of construction and the tracking of material in GC yards once construction is started.

Description:
- Develops and utilizes material available management reporting process to ensure 100% material availability for Network projects
- Recommends and implements improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the end to end supply chain entities
- Ensures timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to all entities with the supply chain and provides updates and assurances as needed to continue project needs
- Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving at GC yards
- Provide assistance internally and externally for any invoice or usage log resolution need as it relates to materials & warehousing
- Maintain and issue inventory reporting throughout the extended supply chain
- Drive continuous improvement activities in all supply chain entities
- Manage suppliers and service providers that support receiving, warehousing and shipping functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree Experience/Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in materials management
- Working knowledge of materials related to small cell new construction and technology upgrade is highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts
- Good financial acumen
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain trusting relationships
- Understanding of the data sets that can be pulled from the system for reporting purposes, specifically JDE
- Ability to meet project deadlines and manage resources accordingly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Strong customer service skills
