TekCom Resources is seeking a a Fiber Splicer for a direct hire role with a fast-growing fiber construction firm!
In this role, you will be splicing fiber optic cables aerially and underground. This is a direct hire role in the Hastings MN area.
Job Responsibilities:
As part of a team, prepare, splice and troubleshoot fiber optic cable
Install, repair and maintain fiber optic splice closures and distribution panels
Ability to work in Underground manhole systems, aerial plant and customer premise
Experienced with fiber optic fusion machines i.E. Fujikura, Sumitomo, Fitel, etc. For splicing
Work in conjunction with field engineering to update records
Coordinate service delivery with multiple departments
On-Call for service outages
Job Knowledge:
1-3 years of fiber splicing experience
Must have experience working in and driving a splicing trailer
Generate and understand OTDR and Power Meter test results
Must have excellent communication and time management skills
Work well with other members of the team
Good problem solving techniques
