Fiber Deployment PM - PMO - WFH in the I-81 corridor VA area.

We are currently recruiting a Project Manager - FIBER/OSP to be based near to the I-81 corridor in Virginia . This is a PMO Fiber Deployment Project Manager that will work with the Engineering and construction teams. This is a remote (WFH) role but candidates within 2-3 hours of the market are preferred as there are occasional meetings (every 6 months or so) in the market. This ia a 2-3 year project

The ideal candidates will have a strong background tracking and managing full CATV/Fiber builds and should be very familiar with the aerial permitting process as well as fiber construction tracking, scheduling and buildout's.

In this role you will work with project managers who individually manage County level projects for a large grant/subsidy buildout of fiber plant to bring broadband to unserved/rural areas. Project Manager work with in-field engineering and construction PMs on timeline, budget, materials and deliverables, as well as track the Finances for grant /subsidy reimbursement.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join this team. As he Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing County level projects as part of a large grant/subsidy buildout initiative to bring broadband to unserved and rural areas. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of vital infrastructure and make a significant impact on communities in need. The successful candidate will collaborate with in-field engineering and construction Project Managers to ensure project timelines, budgets, materials, and deliverables are met, while also tracking grant/subsidy reimbursement.

In this role you ll:
Track and Manage County level projects for the buildout of fiber plant to provide broadband to unserved/rural areas.
Collaborate with in-field engineering and construction Project Managers to coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with timelines, budgets, materials, and deliverables.
Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress, and proactively identifying and addressing any issues or delays.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and optimizing the use of available resources.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for grant/subsidy reimbursement, tracking and reporting project expenses accurately.
Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Communicate project status updates, challenges, and successes to senior management and stakeholders through reports and presentations.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, providing guidance and support to project team members.

What will catch our eye:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the telecommunications industry or related infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and grant/subsidy reimbursement processes.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to regional project sites as needed.

Compensation:
The position offers a competitive hourly rate in the range of $40-45/hr, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
